Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
